Experiential evaluation of the child-parent relationship: Online CPD Workshop
Summary of the Workshop
This workshop focuses on a clinical experiential evaluation method for assessing the parent-child relationship. Developed by Andreea Abe Neagu and adapted from international literature and practice, this method is based on her extensive therapeutic work with parent-child relationships. It integrates specific play therapy and creative-expressive art techniques to analyse the interaction between parent and child.
The interaction is observed and interpreted using defined guidelines, providing insights into the quality of attachment by evaluating nine psychological dimensions of the relationship. These observations are subsequently used in the psychotherapeutic process to repair or enhance various aspects of the parent-child bond.
Participants will:
- * Gain knowledge of a standardised model for clinical experiential evaluation of the parent-child relationship.
- * Explore recent theories related to parent-child dynamics.
- * Learn about specific evaluation materials used during the process.
- * Practice the clinical method by applying the evaluation to a video case with real parents and children.
- * Understand the utility of this method for case conceptualisation in play therapy interventions when working with children and parents.
