CPD Workshop: Using Sandtray with children, adolescents and parents: Face-to-Face

Length: 2 intensive days Face-to-Face
Times: 9:30 – 17.00
Dates: 22.-23.6.2024.
Mode: Face-to-Face in Zagreb
This workshop is for mental health practitioners, students of psychotherapy, psychotherapists and counseling therapists who want to learn more about how to use Sandtray with children, adolescents and their parents.
This workshop will provide an overview of what Sandtray is and how it can be utilized when working with children and adolescents. In addition to the child and adolescents, experts will learn how to communicate with the child’s/adolescent’s parent so that the parent understands how sandtray can be used to increase attachment and deepen their level of insight about themselves and their child/adolescent.
Clinicians will also increase their knowledge in order to offer clients this experiential healing opportunity of self-expression, gaining access to the unconscious, and empowerment through creative problem-solving.
Day One:
  • Participants will be able to identify the therapeutic relationship that is utilized in the Sandtray experience.
  • Participants will be able to explain how to gain access to the unconscious in both Sandtray and in Sandplay ®.
  • Participants will be able to list common themes in play therapy when utilizing Sandtray techniques.
  • Participants will be able to describe different theories that can be used to help play therapy clients practice more adaptive and pro-social ways of solving problems and interacting with others through Sandtray directives.
  • Identify best play therapy practices for when to use Sandtray.
Day Two:
  • Participants will become familiar with two directive Sandtray techniques to utilize for clients to explore self-regulation.
  • Participants will become familiar with and be able to model non-directive sandtray skills, such as reflections, tracking, and “I wonder” statements.
  • Brief overview of how play therapy in a sandtray can be used with adolescence to adulthood.
  • Self explore and learn through building your own directive Sandtray.
  • Join Tatjana & Ashley to learn more about Sandtray and how you can use it to deepen your work with children, adolescents and their parents.
You will receive a certificate in Ongoing Professional Development and be awarded 16 hours of CPD.
The workshop will be in English.
